Thanks On Purpose Events for helping our diverse group construct a focused strategic plan to host the 2007 Juno Awards in Saskatoon. We are now in full implementation mode and using the plan to guide us. The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in Toronto are pleased with the progress we are making, and our focus around our plan.
As a client I have found On Purpose very responsive to our needs. They are able to supply senior levels of advice, when needed, but flexible enough to be able to staff up with more junior operational staff, when for example, we have a large opening or event. This means we get the level of service we need when we need it.
Saskatoon’s Centennial Celebration Committee has been pleased to work with the team from On-Purpose in a number of aspects of the overall centennial plan – from conceptualizing our key mission to the implementation of all the events. On Purpose Events special talent in bringing together multiple stakeholders in support of a common vision was particularly evident in two of the activities that I was close to. The first was the planning of our fundraising strategy in which their ideas helped the Committee in designing a strategy that focused on ways in which different sponsors could take “ownership and pride” in being associated with the celebrations. The second was in conceptualizing the Business Fusion event that was to draw new stakeholders from the business community, particularly the young entrepreneurs and professionals to be part of an activity that would be collaborative, visionary and action-oriented. Saskatoon is lucky to have such a talented team within its community!
It was a great pleasure working with the On Purpose team, not only were they able to assist us in developing a meaningful program that mapped to our strategic platform, they were able to execute the logistics in an efficient and timely manner.
The SRRA has been working with On Purpose Events for 5 years. We hired them to organize the Saskatchewan Marathon alongside the volunteer organizing committee. I have had the pleasure of working closely with Kim and the others from OPE.
OPE has delivered in all aspects of teamwork and customer service. OPE is prompt and organized. They are forward thinking and full of new ideas each year. We often feel as though we are their most important event that they are planning even though they have many things on the go at once. Because of their dedication to each event I’m confident they make us all feel that way.
This past fall OPE designed and executed Palettes & Passion, our first major fundraiser. A fledgling organization like our lacks the expertise and people-power needed to mount such an event. Not only did OPE facilitate this event, they involved our Board, not just as clients but as partners, teaching us a great deal about event planning in the process. This culminated in a wonderful evening of fine art, fine wine, entertainment and camaraderie. The goal was not only to raise funds for our Kanata House project, but to bring the issue – lack of shelter for homeless families – to a new audience. We made valuable connections with many people in the community–connections which will help us continue our work in the days ahead.
For me this was an awesome experience and exposure to this type of work in the community. I was listening very much to what others were saying rather than contributing heavily. My areas of interest were somewhat covered by the main points. Good tools used for working together.
Just wanted to say thanks for a great race on yesterday! I ran the half marathon and really enjoyed myself. Thanks for putting on a great race. The organization was great. I will definitely spread the word in Victoria and hopefully get a few more out there next year.
I just wanted to pass on my thanks to all those who put in a huge effort to make this year’s marathon a huge success! From the expo, to the dinner, to race day morning and the race itself it was a tremendous event. I know we that take part have little idea as to the work involved behind the scenes as all we see are what happens on the “outside” but we do appreciate everything…..including how the rain was stopped for the run! Once again thanks to all those who work so hard to put on this event. A job well done.
The race committee did an excellent job with everything. All of the volunteers made this an awesome experience, and I would not change anything with how the day went. Everyone made my first 1/2 a lot of fun.
Our clients have shared the following thoughts about us in a recent survey:
Caring, Professional, Dedicated Team and Very knowledgeable.
On Purpose does not just consult but if during the consulting phase, or event coordination phase On Purpose will shovel the walks or take out the garbage. There is not elite attitude. On purpose works with the client and fills in the gaps when the client is not able to fulfil its share of the commitment.
You have the experience to innovate, develop and expand events with a strong focus on delivering high quality clients and customer experiences
Wonderful people. Professional.
Well connected with the arts community., attention to detail, in our situation sometimes lines became a bit blurred as to who was to fulfill what duties but total open to discussion and we got things sorted out. Distance can be an issue but superior guidance provided so this was not a major issue. Foster a great working environment. Will continue to use services, building on tomorrows together. Provides superior guidance and direction in the board environment, helping to provide us mandate, purpose, direction.
dependable (ie trustworthy, don’t have to worry things won’t get done, or won’t get done well; you always find solutions to problems)
